It’s Christmas time and I am sure you must’ve invited friends and family over to your place for some really good, soulful food and just spend some time with them. But what if there was a way to elevate that experience by a whole lot? Well, then you’ve come to the right place looking for that.

There are tons of holiday themed party ideas out there but sometimes, it might be very expensive or just not something that you might be looking for. It could vary in a plethora of price ranges and it might not be feasible for everyone to be able to afford it. That’s where downloading and hosting your own Christmas holiday party would be a much better idea than actively looking for something that might be super expensive.

For starters, if you’re on a tight budget, you could start off by not adding too much decorations around your home. You might have already decorated your home for the holiday period anyways and it doesn’t make sense to add too much decorations on top of it. Besides, simplicity is key to decorating your home. Add too much and your place could become like a flea market, and no one wants that, for sure.

You could also skimp on invitations though, that is really up to you. It doesn’t necessarily make sense to make invitations but it’s really up to the host. If you do plan on calling a lot of people, you could make an evite since for starters, it is easy on the environment and you don’t need to spend so much money printing it and things like that. Just a simple e-vite would definitely help, if needed. 

Next up is food. Obviously, if you’re inviting them during the holiday period, chances are, you most definitely have food prepared though if you don’t, you could order some home-made food from restaurants or you and if your guests love cooking, you could whip out a dish that most people would definitely love and you could cook it with them! If you want to serve alcoholic beverages, limit the choices to wine and beer. This will help reduce your cost. For non-alcohol drinkers and designated drivers, you can always keep it simple and set up dispensers or pitchers filled with iced water with fruit slices and freshly brewed iced tea or serve hot cocoa with all the fixings such as marshmallows, candy canes, whipped cream, etc. And since it is the holiday period, eggnogs are popular as ever and can be used as well!

One interesting game you could pick up is Secret Santa. You and your guests can pick a draw with each other and that’s where the fun begins! You could set a spending limit as low as you like and let people get creative. That way, your guests will only have to buy one gift instead of a gift for each guest. Also, if your budget allows, you could send your guests home with gifts such as ornaments or special sweet treats like fresh baked cookies or homemade candies.

Another interesting party you could have is basically a wholesome Christmas movie! For instance, Home Alone has a reboot now. and it’s everyone’s favorite Christmas movie (well, almost.) There are plenty of movies that a family could watch together and it’s better if you have a subscription service to something like Netflix, Hulu or something along those lines, you’ll most likely have content curated for the holiday theme as well, so that’d be a great idea.

But another great idea is basically just chilling around and playing a ton of games that everyone can enjoy regardless. One of them is basically our own games, here on Fat City Entertainment. By adding a dash of color to something, it always makes things so much more interesting. Did you know that different colors convey different emotions? And similarly, we here at Fat City Entertainment have different songs with colors in their titles, a different take on the classic Music Bingo that we have with our awesome theme appropriate playlists. We have all the songs from the Pink Panther Theme to hit songs like Back in Black and many more!

We have amazing ideas for you if you plan on hosting a Color based Music Bingo contest or a simple party soon so let’s take a look at some of those.

One awesome idea is that to stick with the theme of colors, you can print our PDFs using thick stock or colored paper. It makes things so much fun and goofy and also resonates with the theme, colors! Using a different colored paper compared to the age old white would certainly add character and it also shows people that you also put in the thought to plan your music bingo party. If you want, you can print it all on the same colored paper but you can always go the extra mile, where it’s less crowded, and print it on different colored papers for each paper. It’s a much welcome change from printing on the age old white paper. Besides, it wouldn’t hurt printing on different colored papers. If you have a guest list, you can print the PDFs on colors that they love! Now that’d be so cool!

So, now that you’ve sorted out the paper thing, you could decide on the dress code. Most people love dressing up and once they’ve heard there’s a dress code at a party, they’ll most definitely dress to impress! One simple idea for a dress code is to ask your guests or bar customers to dress up in the brightest and most fun colors they have in their closet! It’ll be so fun to see everyone in their best colors and to make things even better and more interesting, you can certainly add in another prize (on top of the winner of the bingo contest) to determine who’s the most colorful person in the room and gift them an awesome prize, like a colored drink (more on that later!) or if you’re a very crafty person, you can design a lovely phone case for them in their favorite color. 

Pride month is a special month and celebrates the rights of those who identify themselves under LGBTQIA+. If you run a bar that openly supports the LGBTQIA+ people, you can certainly host a lovely colors themed music bingo night! This would also help boost your business and also make them feel very included! You can certainly add a lot of Pride Month themes for your bar or restaurant. Besides, people love to be represented and they also would enjoy this! You can also use colorful decorations and make people more comfortable in your restaurant or bar.

Another interesting aspect to keep things interesting is to stick to a sub theme or play color based games. For instance, Guitar Hero and Beat Saber, some of the most popular games available out there, have some really amazing themes. If you want, you can also consider Osu! and have a small contest on who’s the superior player. All of these games are one of the most colorful and beautiful games out there.

And finally, this tip is for those who make their own drinks and own bars and restaurants. You can make dishes and drinks that have the colors as names. It certainly helps stick with the theme of colors and makes things interesting. You can go one step further by learning new dishes and adding natural color to cupcakes or drinks. It only adds to the theme and what’s more, it’s also a good time for you to flex your cooking muscles and dazzle them with your cooking.
