There's no denying that there's just something amazing about the idea of trying out a new game. Be it a video game, a tabletop game, a board game, or in this case a web app screen game; there's just something that really makes us want to give it a go.

It's the ultimate trivia game for both trivia hosts and trivia enthusiasts alike and down below is a basic blow-by-blow account as to why that is.

In a nutshell, there' a lot that makes this the ultimate trivia game, but don't worry, we'll start slow. To begin with, the game has an incredible amount of versatility. As previously stated, it's a web app screen game which essentially means it's a downloadable app that you can keep on your desktop or laptop to play whenever you want.

What Makes Triv101 the "Ultimate Trivia Game"?

The very nature of the game makes is really easy to share and play among friends and family. If you want to put the game on a larger screen - like your TV - you totally can. All you've got to do is connect your television to your computer with an HDMI cable and, voila! Everyone's got a picture-perfect view.

If you want to flex your extraordinary trivia know-how for everyone to see, stream it on Twitch. Everyone and their grandmother use the streaming platform to show their skills and for Let's Plays, there's no reason why you couldn't do the same with Triv101. YouTube would work much the same way; stream yourselves (you, your friends, and family) having a good time showing off your smarts. You can just keep it simple and play each over Zoom as a fun way to keep in touch.

Triv101 can be used in various ways but arguably the best trait of the game is the ability to be shared, displayed by, and played by multiple people at once.

Triv101 is A Great Way to Cut Loose and Have Fun Anywhere

This is technically still a point toward Triv101's versatility, but it's important enough to get its own section in this article. The point being, that you can play Triv101 pretty much anywhere. Part of the reason why is because it's actually a really simple game. There is a free version of the game and a premium version. Each version has 350 and 1350 questions respectively.

The trivia enthusiasts out there will definitely be pleased by that amount of questions to try their hand at. You and your friends and family can create teams to compete against each other and show off what you know.

The relatively streamlined design of the game makes it easy to learn and lends to its "ultimate play-ability". You can play it in pubs, at parties, it's excellent for team-building exercises, and yes, you can play it at home while social distancing. Needless to say, it's quite a bit different from the trivia games that people download onto their phones. There are so many ways to share and play Triv101 that it's in a breed all their own.

Like any good game, there's more than just a single reason why anyone should play Triv101, really. One good motive, though, is so that you can stay in contact with distant loved ones. Right now, it's more important than ever to stay connected with friends and family during this time.

It can serve as a terrific means of expanding your knowledge too. Some of the facts may be totally random, sure, but if you're a true trivia aficionado, that's a definite plus. Triv101 is an outstanding way to kill time too, a boring Friday night can go by in a flash answering question after question.

There is really no wrong way to share or play Triv101, which is why it's such a good time. The versatility makes it plenty of fun. The sheer amount of questions and the portability ensures that you'll get plenty of variety when playing.

Triv101 offers a truckload of entertainment and can keep a large group busy for a long time. You can grab some beers, snatch up some snacks, and settle in for a long night winning (or losing) while trying your hand at some trivia. Triv101 is a different kind of trivia game and those differences really make it stand out from the rest.

Ready for a fun game celebrating the originality of songwriters? /s

Your group is bound to get a kick out of this game. Of course, it would be perfect for a baby shower, it is fun for all crowds of all ages.

Note: mildly explicit lyrics in some songs, such as "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot. However, this is pretty mild by today's standards. You are bound to hear worse cursing on an average Netflix episode or presidential debate...

Many of our users have taken the initiative to create online events in the wake of covid-19. Here is some great advice from Jen M:

"We have had so much fun! It’s given us something to look forward too!

"For the family and friends that live in the same city I print all the cards (making sure I am washing my hands and bring isogel) I drop off cards in their mailboxes which was a very exciting outing for me lol. For the ones further away I emailed them and they either printed them selves or hand wrote out their cards.

"Each week we have used the theme of the bingo along with decorating area that we are playing in along with hair styles and costumes. We use the zoom app and using a mixer and a good quality mic along with iPhone directly into computer so the sound is great for all playing. Most of the players use their phones and use either Apple TV or a lighting cord to put up on tv so we can see everyone.

"We are very lucky my dad was the morning man for the radio station for 35 years plus a dj back in the day so this isolation along with you guys has brought him out of retirement!"

Thanks so much Jen for allowing us to share your experience, and to help others! You are a true supporter of Live Entertainment!

8 Ways To Take Your Trivia Event Completely Virtual With Online Streaming Tools

With the current situation of the world we continue to need to look to the future, and what the future has in store for our trivia shows and live entertainment. I am writing this on a Trivia Tuesday, but bars & restaurants are not permitted to open in my location, and this is the same for many cities, and perhaps from where you are reading this.

We have seen many requests for online tools to host trivia events using live streaming, so I thought I would take the time to compile my favorites here for you. You should be able to utilize any of our FBT PowerPoint Presentations to screen share and work with these tools, as well as our newest game Triv101 (currently in beta-access) "Survey" style trivia party game.

Music Bingo is a little bit more difficult to play online. You can share streaming services by allowing multiple people to listen to the same Spotify account, but in order to distribute cards, you will need to send them out or have everyone print their own cards beforehand. Perhaps you can send out the cards to each persons computers and have them "dob" off answers on their individual screens, but this can be a lot of work to set up for guests too. If you have attempted Music Bingo online yourself, please let us know how it went in the comment section below.

Zoom: Video Conferencing

If you haven't heard about Zoom already, you're gonna. It is quickly taking the market by storm with its easy-to-use platform and screensharing service. It is free to use for up to 100 participants, but it does have a premium add-on for up to 500 participants. This is a good place to start if you aren't super tech savvy.

Google Hangouts

Google is offering a free upgrade, currently, and you should be able to get 150 people on the same call at once. This might be a good option for you if you already have all your contacts within your Gmail.

www.twitch.tv

This is my personal favorite option for sharing your trivia content right now. It's free to join, and you can easily begin taking donations and gaining paid subscribers to your stream. While they don't yet have a category specifically for Trivia, I think we can work together and get them to change that. There are several other option that will work in the meantime, such as Twitch Plays or Just Chatting.

Mixer | Interactive Livestreaming

This is Microsoft's new answer to live streaming. While there are not near as many viewers as Twitch or YouTube, this is a nicely laid out platform with everything you need to make an income online for your guests

Live - YouTube

YouTube is kind of hard to navigate and doesn't categorize too well yet, but it does have one of the largest viewer bases to work with. If you are planning on opening your trivia show up to the world, this could be an option for you.

Facebook Live

Could be OK if you are into that sort of thing. I don't enjoy Facebook's marketing algorithms, and find them a burden on society... but whatever. To each their own.

Join.me

This option was built mainly for online meetings but is easy-to-use and fits our needs nicely. Free for up to 10 users or 250 with their pro account. Not bad at all

Bonus option for the true virtual trivia experience!

Picture
Bigscreen VR

I have hosted dozens of trivia events using Bigscreen VR and it is quickly becoming one of my favorites. The experiences you can have interacting with guests in virtual reality is far greater than you will find with any other platform. You can have players draw their answer in 3d, raise their hands, and even have a dance contest!

You will be limited by how many people have the gear to join your event right now... but one day soon this will be THE way to host your virtual trivia night.

Thanks for reading. You're the best. Once again, thanks for supporting live entertainment.
